How to Resize an Image Without Losing Quality
2026-06-06
Wrong image sizes mean cropping, blur, slow loads or rejected uploads. Resizing to the right dimensions fixes all of that — and keeps your images sharp.
Step by step
- Open the Resize Image tool.
- Add your image(s).
- Enter the target width and keep aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching.
- Click Resize images and download.
Resize vs. compress
Resizing changes dimensions; compression changes file size at the same dimensions. For the web you usually want both: resize to the display size, then run Compress Image.
Tips
- Never enlarge a small image much — it can't add detail and will look soft.
- Match common targets: 1080px wide is plenty for most web and social use.
Frequently asked questions
Will it distort my image?
Not if you keep the aspect ratio locked, which is the default.
