How to Resize an Image Without Losing Quality

2026-06-06

Wrong image sizes mean cropping, blur, slow loads or rejected uploads. Resizing to the right dimensions fixes all of that — and keeps your images sharp.

Step by step

  1. Open the Resize Image tool.
  2. Add your image(s).
  3. Enter the target width and keep aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching.
  4. Click Resize images and download.

Resize vs. compress

Resizing changes dimensions; compression changes file size at the same dimensions. For the web you usually want both: resize to the display size, then run Compress Image.

Tips

  • Never enlarge a small image much — it can't add detail and will look soft.
  • Match common targets: 1080px wide is plenty for most web and social use.

Frequently asked questions

Will it distort my image?

Not if you keep the aspect ratio locked, which is the default.
