About Resize PDF Pages

Page size is invisible until it isn't. A document created on US Letter and printed on A4 comes out with a strip of unexpected margin and a scaling prompt; a report assembled from several sources prints with pages that do not line up in the tray. Standardising the size solves both.

The conversion works by scaling each page to fit the new dimensions and centring it, so the content is never cropped. Because PDF content is largely vector, the scaling is lossless — text stays sharp at any size, and only embedded photographs are resampled the way they would be by any viewer.

A4 and US Letter are close enough in size that the visual difference is small but real, and they are the two you will need most often. A3 is useful for posters and plans, A5 for booklets and handouts, and Legal for the contracts that still insist on it.

Frequently asked questions

Will any content be cut off?+

No. Each page is scaled to fit inside the new size and centred, so everything that was on the page is still on the page.

Why does A4 versus Letter matter?+

A4 is the standard almost everywhere outside North America, and US Letter is standard within it. Printing one on the other produces uneven margins or a warning about scaling.

What does "keep each page's orientation" do?+

It turns the target size to match a landscape page rather than shrinking it to fit a portrait sheet. Leave it on unless you specifically want everything portrait.

Does resizing reduce quality?+

No. The page content is vector where it started as vector, so scaling is lossless. Embedded photographs are scaled the way any viewer would scale them.

Can I mix page sizes in one document?+

The tool applies one target size to every page, which is usually the point — mixed sizes are what makes a document print badly.

Is my file uploaded?+

No. Resizing happens in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device.
